There are actually secret tunnels leftover from the Prohibition days, when the threat of raids meant patrons had to be prepared to make hasty exits and secret bars within the bar -- for those in the know. Its most secret bar, the Ipswitch, is located beyond that secret trap door used more than 90 years ago.

Carbonell will be serving up pub fare with a twist like lamb bourguignon shepherds pie and tikka masala mussels. The bar will offer 80 different whiskeys, all served in one ounce pours so customers can try more. Seventeen draft beers will be available as well as a cocktail menu featuring house-made infusions and fresh ingredients. The bar itself is an altar, nabbed from a decommissioned church at 10th and Green. We'll definitely provide that environment as soon as the city and state tell us what those guidelines will be.

Here's how you can help. At the moment, all of the bars owned by Future Bars Group are closed, save for two locations of their spirit shop, Cask. Dalton and his group have done what they can to retain their roster of knowledgeable bartenders, servers and staff members.

In order to support employees and the business, Dalton said he and his business partner, Brian Sheehy, have decided to forgo their own paychecks in the interim. And so retention is very important to us.

It just did not feel like the appropriate option for us.
