Naruto add Supporting. Background: Yahiko was orphaned during the Second Shinobi World War, and, thus, he started fending for himself, stealing food from others. He later encountered Konan, also an orphan, and the two began to work together to survive.
After this, Konan brought another orphan, Nagato, and his dog, Chibi, into the group. At first, Yahiko was upset that she was bringing more people, but he later accepted Nagato and Chibi into his gang. Angered by how unfair the world was to them, Yahiko declared he would become a god to end the fighting. The three eventually encountered Jiraiya, who looked after them and taught them basic ninjutsu.
Afterwards, Yahiko vowed to become strong enough to protect Konan, Nagato, and eventually all of Amegakure. Some time after Jiraiya's departure from Amegakure, the three gained a reputation as a talented shinobi team. Still desiring to create a world of peace, Yahiko and his friends went on to become fully fledged Ame ninja, and gathered many supporters who shared their hope to save their village and the world.
Personality: Yahiko's personality is similar to Naruto's. His dream was to be a leader of his village, and he never gave up no matter what. When he was alive, Yahiko had a strong "eye for an eye" philosophy. He hated the way Amegakure was looked at by the rest of the world, and hated what it had become.
Konan understood his pain all too well and devoted her life towards serving him. Tobi would become her number one enemy. Konan would even go so far as to consider sacrificing herself in order to protect Naruto and Nagato's remains. In the book, Kishimoto states he always intended for Konan to be the only female member of Akatsuki. Within the treasure trove of concept art, Konan is shown to have her belly button pierced.
Even her blue hair was done on purpose in order to draw attention towards her character. She was also given orange nail polish to compliment her hair and the Akatsuki cloak. As with all things concerning Naruto , every design within the series was added for a specific reason. Sometimes this meant more work for Masashi Kishimoto, but in his mind, it was totally worth the extra effort. He would try to tie in every design and correlate it with the overall stories and character arcs.
The infamous design on the black and red Akatsuki cloaks resembles a cloud that is colored red. Kishimoto did this intentionally, having the red cloud symbolize the horrors and bloodshed which took place at Amegakure during the Second Shinobi World War.
It also stood for all those who lost their lives during any of the other wars too. Once Nagato takes over Akatsuki, the meaning behind the symbol changes. Instead of being an icon for peace, it becomes the sign of death and destruction. Because Nagato is an Uzumaki, he has the power to wield the Rinnegan in both eyes with no issues. In the Naruto franchise, this is a big deal. The one he used the most was the Deva Path because of his immobility.
This allowed him to summon and control the Demonic Statue, produce black receivers, and use the Samsara of Heavenly Life Technique to revive the dead.
Nagato still saw Yahiko as the leader of Akatsuki and specifically used his undead body as a symbol for his beliefs. He also viewed it above other bodies he was using, sacrificing those to protect the body that used to be Yahiko.
Essentially, Yahiko was the face and body of Nagato since he could not move or battle with ease due to his injured legs.
Masashi Kishimoto was known for coming up with interesting concept ideas regarding the Naruto franchise. Some were instantaneous hits while others flopped. Some never made it past the drawing board. Kishimoto initially wanted the Akatsuki to be monster based.
Yep, that meant no humans. Various monster creations did pass, such as Kisame and the plant-like Zetsu. Even the early origins for Kakuzu were based on a creature from Japanese mythology called the Kuchisake-onna creature. Eventually, things would get toned down, with Kakuzu and Sasori becoming humans instead. In the end, this was a wise choice for Kishimoto, as it allowed him to incorporate morality and human failings into his story even more.
After all, Naruto is about human growth and redemption for those who have fallen into despair and evil. As the Deva Path was the body of Yahiko, it had retained all of his physical features from when he was alive, most notably his medium length spiky orange hair. But as a Path of Pain, the Deva Path possessed Nagato's Rinnegan , bore six piercings, a metal bar through each ear, three studs through the side of its upper nose, and one spike stud on each end of the bottom lip.
It also had three piercings on each wrist, at least one on its upper wrist and some just under his neck. His face became also a little pale. He also wore a necklace, which was somewhat similar to the one worn by the Sage of the Six Paths.
He was also seen wearing red nail polish. Another noticeable difference between the Deva Path and Yahiko is the expression on their face: as the Deva Path, Yahiko's face bore no telling expression and was in all sense, a walking corpse. Overall, his body's appearance gave the impression that he was in his mid-twenties to thirties despite physically being fifteen.
Yahiko could use Water Release to shoot a jet stream of water from his mouth, and in the anime, create pillars of water to protect him. Yahiko also had the elements of Fire and Wind Release at his disposal. The fact that he was seen carrying a large sword in the flashbacks implied that he was skilled in kenjutsu. He also had good leadership skills, as he was respected by all Akatsuki members of his time, and although he viewed Nagato as the bridge of peace, everyone else viewed him to be the person who would lead them to true peace.
Following Yahiko's death and Nagato's subsequent immobility, Nagato, using his Rinnegan and chakra receivers , incorporated Yahiko's corpse into his Six Paths of Pain technique. As the Deva Path , Yahiko's body acted as Pain's main body, it being the one he most commonly used and spoke through; this is because Nagato and Konan still saw Yahiko as the leader of Akatsuki and used his body to symbolise this.
In addition to the control of gravity that is central to the Deva Path's abilities, Yahiko's body is used for many of the miscellaneous techniques that Nagato performs for Akatsuki meetings. The Deva Path was held in higher regard during combat, as some of the other bodies were unhesitatingly sacrificed to ensure its survival. Following Deva Path's defeat and Nagato's death, Konan took both of their bodies back to Amegakure and created a shrine for them, placing their bodies on a bed of paper flowers.
It was later desecrated by Tobi who stole Nagato's body. Yahiko's corpse is currently the only one that is lying in repose there. Narutopedia Explore. Wiki Activity. The Beast that was Shot by Love!!
