Rated 4 out of 5 by sandy21 from A Great Replacement I bought the wildside jar as a replacement for my regular jar when the latter's blender rotor blade seal shot black stuff all over the motor housing.
I had bought a blendtec for my girlfriend with a wildside jar so I'm familiar with the advantages of this jar and I really like mine.
I use it mostly to make morning smoothies where I can put nuts, veggies, fruit and all sorts of ingredients to aid my health. It handles everything quite well and I particularly like that it can start on a slow speed for other types of blending. After I bought the wildside jar I was contacted by a company representative who informed me that I had an active warranty on the blender and so I opted to accept a twister jar instead of a refund on the replacement jar.
I'm looking forward to making peanut butter and hummus with the twister jar. I do, however, have a concern about the seals wearing out on the jars. As I think back on my original jar it showed those same signs. Yet there was never any leakage from the jar nor was there contamination of the ingredients of the jar and this holds true for the wildside jar that my girlfriend has.
But when the seal blew on mine I didn't want to take a chance on leakage or contamination and so I ordered a new one. I'm posting this as a mixed review but I do like my blender! I bought my Blendtec few years ago and love it.
This year we started notice a noise when making our smoothies. I thought it was the blender so I call the company and explain the problem. We just got it, so happy. We like the system, but buying new jars all the time is too spendy. If this doesn't change, we will find a better system soon. We were too broke to afford a new blender , and replacing the jar was just as expensive as replacing the entire blender.
So we just did without for a loooooong time. When we moved to California, my step-mom was gracious to give us her old blender. You were making a mess. That is the Blendtec Total Blender Classic. He was just waiting for my birthday to come so he could buy it for me to use it for him! Random Fact: See the little screen in the front?
It shows how many blends you have. You could get along just fine with an ordinary blender from Walmart or Target. But I fear having to buy things over and over… The cost of buying a less expensive blender multiple times because it keeps breaking.
We owned 3 blenders in our first 2 years of marriage. We said no to a lot of things, for a long time, in order to meet our financial goals. Instead, this is me telling you to view your purchases as an investment. Find a used blender first check Goodwill, thrift stores, garage sales, etc.
Black Friday tends to have some of the best deals of the year, but in general, the best bang for your buck is the refurbished Blendtec. That not-round shape is one of the reasons the Blendtec works so well.
The fourside jar holds two quarts of liquid. To put that in perspective, I can make two days worth of breakfast smoothies in four minutes. Most of that time is adding the ingredients to the jar. Talk about a time saver! I can add all the ingredients as is at one time!
They also sell a twister jar , which smaller, round, and designed for thicker foods like our favorite hummus , vegan nacho cheese dip , or homemade nut butter. It comes with a special lid that you rotate as it blends, to keep the food moving in the downward direction.
The twister jar is genius if you ask me. This was the last jar I got for my blender and I use it so often. My kids are super happy to eat beans when I use my blender to make cookie dough hummus or black bean brownies. I mean, can a mom be any happier? Part spatula. Part spectacular. Totally ingenious. You can take a normal, flat spatula and easily scrape down the sides of the jar without much fuss or wasting ingredients.
Using a regular spatula to scrape the sides of this jar is kinda like trying to fit the wooden square block into the round hole of a preschool shape sorter toy.
Blendtec invented the Spectacula to rescue those recipe remnants stuck to the sides of their jar. Stranded food particles are wasted food in my frugal kitchen, so I greatly appreciate and personally thank the engineer that came up with this idea!
Not even the slightest hint of an overworked motor or clumpy blend. In the event something does go wrong with your motor, Blendtec offers an impressive 8-year warranty on their new blenders. Friends of mine who have bought a refurbished Blendtec have also had great success with a strong, long-lasting motor. At the time we first bought it, we were living in California with limited storage space, this was a HUGE deal-breaker for us. With room to spare!
Another plus is that the Blendtec is incredibly light. As I mentioned, space in the kitchen is limited. While we can store the Blendtec on the kitchen counter, we keep it in a lower cupboard underneath one of the counters. Pulling it out and setting up the super light 1. Blendtec makes a pretty good looking machine, dontcha think? I thought my own Classic model was WAY nicer than the competitors at the time, and now they have the Blendtec Designer Series that really adds a decorative element to your kitchen!
There are these cute little buttons that completely take the guesswork out of anything you want to make. The soup button gives a longer blend time to heat up the soup, so your soup is actually warm and hot in some cases and ready to go.
Easy peasy. But how does it compare? I have, however, been able to use a Vitamix in person on vacation. I know some people swear by their Vitamix even Starbucks switched to a specially designed Vitamix blender! Personally, I do not have much experience with the Ninja blender. They advertise a powerful motor and it is a competition to the Blendtec. The price point on a Ninja is lower than the Blendtec or Vitamix and sometimes that can be telling in the long term functionality of a product.
Are you interested in purchasing a Blendtec Blender after reading my review? I bought the Blendtec Total Classic from Costco ages ago. Sold Out. Plenty of Power Care to crush ice? Rated 5 out of 5 by debc from Love it! The ground coffee came out great, but unfortunately, even after just 5 seconds, it scarred the jar, so now it's cloudy at the bottom.
I guess that's to be expected because it's plastic, but I wish there had been a warning. I'm sure it won't affect the performance, I just liked it to look clean, since it sits out on the counter. Still love the blender, though! Date published: I have made many things with it from smoothies to dips and shakes it performs flawlessly and gives restaurant quality each time. I must also add that it has also outlived 3 blenders I had prior to this one. Once you get over the initial sticker shock and use it, you will see it is totally worth what you pay for it.
If you're looking for something for the long haul and will perform better then anything out there look no further then Blendtec. Rated 5 out of 5 by crashpad from Amazon, easy to use, love it!
My mom bought this about nine months ago and hasn't really used it ever because she says you have to buy food that you usually don't have around the house.
I wanted to prove her wrong and so I've been borrowing it, using it the last week. Once my mom begins tasting how great everything is, I'll be buying my own unit to replace the one I'm borrowing Date published: I have used my Total Blender Classic for about 5 years now with absolutely zero problems and over blends. It has all the features for an outstanding price!
I always recommend this model for anyone looking to get the most bang for their buck.
