Why does combo attack milky

His fate is left unknown to the viewers. Milky recovered from the attack and Combo left town. In , Woody and Lol were getting married, but complications arose in their relationship. Lol turned to Milky for comfort, and the two began an affair behind Woody's back. He then subsequently ends the affair after feeling guilty when Woody cries to him after the football fight with Flip and the gang.

Not shown in , Lol fell pregnant, and when the baby was discovered to be Milky's he agreed to leave town for the good of everyone. He returned for Christmas to see his daughter Lisa , but on Christmas eve of when he was visiting, Lol attempted suicide.

Milky is present at Shaun's play then the later accidental meet up with Woody and Jen. He scraps and argues with Woody and the pair leave on bad terms. Lol survives, and despite the fight between Woody and Milky the two made up on Christmas day.

He is finally seen playing cards with Kelly, Trev and Chrissy. Seen as a caring father for his daughter and Woody and Lol's own son, he later expresses his uncomfortableness with Combo coming to live with his black daughter. He is seen talking on the phone to someone, which is revealed to be his family and uncles. He gets revenge on Combo for his racist attack in by arranging a cafe meetup in which Combo is taken away in a van to be presumably killed by hitmen.

He is shown racked with guilt at Woody and Lol's wedding, dodging the opportunity to reply to Lol when she asks if he knows anything of Combo's whereabouts. At times I feel he really did have good intentions towards Milky. He's previously said Milky's "a proud man".

At Smell's party he didn't have any special attitude towards him. Often, though, my opinion sways in another direction. Let's face it, from all the people whom Combo could have approached for weed, why Milky? To me it seems like an unusual choice. The way he was interacting with him was also odd. The scene gave me the impression they were now great mates.

How come so fast? This somehow tells me there's been some hidden agenda in Combo's mind. Secondly, I'm baffled as to why Combo smacked Banjo with a bottle over the head. I know the main argument here is that Banjo said the "wrong" thing. From what I could hear, he said something along the lines of "I want in on that". Why would that invoke such a reaction in Combo?

I know he's the more prominent character of the two, but they've always been in this together. Surely, a statement of such kind shouldn't surprise him, let alone infuriate him. I was surprised at his general reaction to everyone in that scene, including Maggie and Shaun, but primarily Banjo.

What are your thoughts and observations? I could bring up various points for disccusion s such as the evident remorse Combo showed after the attack and the unlikelihood of Milky actually tagging along with Combo, but I'll leave it at that. Post deleted This message has been deleted. Member since February Banjo states "I want out of this" then Combo hits him over the head with a bottle this infuriates Combo who then attacks Banjo. I have tried looking for the script of This Is England to find out exactly what Banjo says but I am guessing after he see's what Combo has done to Milky he feels ashamed and decides that he would not like to play a part in the violence.

I'll Be Back. Thanks for your response. I've also looked for the script, but to no avail. I'm afraid it isn't available anywhere. Or I might as well be completely rubbish at research : Ah, righto.

Your version of his line definitely makes more sense in terms of Combo hitting him. Having said that, I find it hard to believe Banjo, of all people, would claim this!

Wasn't he the one who brainwashed Combo in prison? Additionally, during the assault Banjo did nothing to help Milky. On the contrary, he was restraining Shaun who was desperately trying to stop Combo. Quite true!! He did restrain Shaun but he was laughing too Argh, that's confusing!

Member since July Member since September Others will probably see it as an accident on the spur of the moment, purely provoked by overall anger, jealousy, weed," Hatred and pure anger. If you watch the sence, and the way they are set up. You can already tell he is up to something. I had a really hard time understanding the characters through their very thick Yorkshire accents. I did enjoy the film btw.

And I kept thinking I had seen Woody somewhere else. Milky had a privileged upbringing compared to Combo and Combo felt that Milky was looking down on him as he was smiling as he insulted him. This set Combo off.
