As I understand it, Party Mode activates zone 2 and runs the same source through the main zone and zone 2. Great concept, but when I turn on Party Mode the receiver automatically defaults to 7ch Stereo, which sounds like crap Is there any way to change this default?
I would prefer it to run as 2ch Stereo or Straight, but it won't allow me to change that. Nestor Senior Audioholic. JDaBod said:. Nestor said:. Why not simply activate zone 2? Also, what is the main difference between 2ch stereo and "straight? Straight will play the incoming signal exactly as it came in.
So for CDs which are already 2 channels of audio, Straight will sound identical as the 2ch setting. But if the incoming signal is say Dolby5. If the incoming signal is 5. I leave my RX-A in Straight pretty much all the time.
Having not used a yammy with "straight" mode, but other receivers with "direct", etc Shouldn't straight mode also NOT apply any equalization or channel boosts? Just curious? Yamaha Party Mode. Thread starter opieandy Start date Nov 15, Hi, My RAV suddenly plays only out of the left channel in party mode. Any idea what could be causing that?
Don't see any settings I can change, and both channels work fine when not in party mode. Party mode has always been an odd duck since I had this system wired a few years ago. I don't have 2 zones set up. Nevertheless, in party mode, I get a full, rich sound in all 7 speakers.
Without it, the sound is front concentrated and sounds only 5. I have adjusted the DB levels for all 7 speakers but it does not have much impact. Any help appreciated on the one channel issue. I am a real novice. Thanks, Chris. Dunners Active Member. Party mode is designed for a 2-zone system so you can play 2 x areas in sync with each other, no matter the source. Using it in one room will most likely cause issues. Put it into all channel stereo or whatever your receiver has to offer I'm not familiar with an RAV sorry.
Using it in one zone will not cause issues and simply results or should result in all the speakers being utilised to output the same audio within the main zone. There's no theoretical reason why it cannot be used in a one zone setup. I can therefore only conclude that the receiver has developed a fault as opposed to this being an issue with its configuration? Last edited: Nov 15, You must log in or register to reply here.
